Правила доменов .LK
The .lk extension is the Internet country code top-level domain assigned for entities associated with Sri Lanka. Companies, educational institutions, government organizations and individuals having a local presence in Sri Lanka can opt for .lk registration. Even foreign companies, who don't have local presence in the country, can reserve Top Level and Second Level Domains by obtaining a contact address in Sri Lanka through an agent or law firm.
The LK domain registry that oversees the .lk registration process is the Council for Information Technology. Functions such as additions and deletions of names are handled by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Moratuwa, on behalf of LK Domain Registry. Here you can register Top Level Domains along with both Closed Second Level Domains and Open Second Level Domains. Closed domain means that certain domains are restricted to certain kinds of users only — such as gov.lk for the Government of Sri Lanka, sch.lk for registered schools in Sri Lanka, .net.lk for licensed Internet Service Providers and .int.lk for International Treaty organizations. Open second level domains are available for the following categories:
- .ngo.lk : for non governmental organizations
- .web.lk : for web sites
- .grp.lk : for group of companies
- .ltd.lk : for limited liability companies
- .assn.lk : for associations
- .soc.lk : for registered societies in Sri Lanka
- .hotel.lk : for hotels
There are certain restrictions and policies set by the registry that must be followed by each applicant. Trademarks or other copyrighted material which is not permitted in business names will not be accepted by the registry. The registry prohibits offensive and obscene names, as well as those that confuse or mislead the public. The names of towns, provinces and abbreviations as well as generic names that represent professions, internet services, generic products, names of sports, and so forth, are not allowed. |
